A new initiative set-up in the US is helping golfers improve swings by boosting their biomechanics.
Pro Motion Rehab's Back in Swing programme is said to improve stability, strength and balance and crucially - add to the motion and mobility of players, reports North Carolina's Cherokee Scout.
The techniques used in this form of physical therapy is said to improve the capabilities of average-ability golfers, as well as those coming back from injury.
Programme leader Randy Veroline told the newspaper: "When the average golfer has certain restrictions the body can't overcome, we can analyse and assess the situation and help improve their game from a biomechanical perspective.
"We can target and treat issues and injuries in the back, neck and shoulders, and specifically help them."
According to figures from the Golf Biomechanic CHEK assessment, 53 per cent of male and 45 per cent of female golfers suffer from lower back pain.
