Adams Golf was founded in 1987 by Barney Adams. Then a golf equipment component supplier
and contract manufacturer in West Texas, Barney moved the company to Dallas in the 1990’s
to concentrate on custom fitting and new product development.
In 1996 Adams golf invented the Tight Lies fairway wood, this was like no other with a head
design that was traditional but upside down, this not only lowered the club’s centre of
gravity but also increased the hitting surface. This technology now runs through the latest
versions of the Speedline fairway woods making them as popular as ever. The Speedline F11
and full range of drivers use advanced aerodynamic testing to help produce the most innovative
shaping for maximum distance and forgiveness.
The Idea hybrids and irons are the main reason for Adams success; they combine the best
attributes of several generations of the popular Idea Hybrids to produce a range that just
keeps on improving. This is also highlighted by the tour usage, where the Idea hybrids
constantly pick up awards for being the number one hybrid on tour.
