The RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship has evolved out of the National Long Drive Championship,
which began in 1975. It has grown from a mostly low-key event to one that includes golfers from
virtually every corner of the world with competitors coming from more than 15 countries for the
chance to win the purse worth over $450,000.
Canadian and Adams Brand Ambassador Jamie Sadlowski has emerged as the world's premier power golfer
Having captured back-to-back RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship titles in 2008 and 2009.
Sadlowski, a former junior hockey player who supports St. Paul, Alberta, electrifies the supporting galleries
with his fearless, full-bore golf swing. He routinely registers clubhead speed of more than 140 mph and ball
speed exceeding 210 mph with his Adams Speedline driver.
In contrast to his contemporaries on the Long Drivers of America (LDA) circuit, who resemble NFL linebackers,
Sadlowski is 5ft11 and weighs 170 pounds, But his unique combination of flexibility, strength and ferocious
speed have produced a series of dominating performances, dating back to two RE/MAX junior world long drive
titles in his teens.
