For nearly 40 years Cobra has been developing some of the most iconic golf clubs in the
business. With the launch of the ‘Baffler’, Cobra introduced a new category of clubs – the
first utility wood with a patented sole designed to increase its effectiveness from a
variety of lies. The signing of Greg Norman in 1991 was instrumental in Cobra’s development
of its forged irons and the follow up, King Cobra oversize irons, become golf’s best selling
irons and created a second new club category.
From the King Cobra irons a range of drivers and fairways were introduced with increasing
emphasis on a larger ‘Sweet Zone’. The development of 9 face hot spots would become the E9
face technology seen on all Cobra clubs today. In 2009 the ZL ‘Zero Limits’ driver added
multi-material construction and Adjustable Flight Technology to produce Cobra's most
innovative driver ever, winning that year with Ian Poulter.
For 2011, Cobra’s S3 drivers and fairways feature larger faces and promote more distance.
