SUMO stands for SUper MOment of Inertia. The design of the head has been stretched wider using Nike's PowerBow design to give an exceptionally high Moment Of Inertia (MOI).
A high Moment Of Inertia (MOI) reduces the amount the club head twists with an off-centre strike. Therefore, with it's exceptionally high MOI the Nike SQ Sumo 5000 driver provides extra accuracy and distance.
The new extended PowerBow design adds a trailing volume of mass to the back of the head. This increases the Moment Of Inertia (MOI) whilst still maintaining a traditional shape.
The unique design of this driver moves the centre of gravity further back in the head for a higher initial launch angle, with less spin for longer drives!
The PowerBow design has allowed the Nike designers to add more power and control without overstepping the 460cc legal limit.
The multi thickness face is constructed from NexTi Titanium, which is the hottest and strongest Titanium ever created for crushing distance and extra durability.
**This driver has a COR of 0.83 or less so it will be perfectly legal to use through 2008!**
The deep-faced profile and rounded Nike PowerBow design offer the best in performance options, allowing you to hit it long and straight, or shape it like the game’s best players.

Great tool, didnt hit it very well in the store but took the gamble due to the good reviews, been to the range at the weekend and all I can say is that its very hard not to hit it straight!! great club and a subtle sound, watch the ball fly, highly recommended driver

Looks like a spaceship but makes the ball fly like one too. Very confident over the ball and i should be seeing as the ball fies dead staright, 9/10 anyway!

I got the Sumo 5000 for my 12th brirthday and man has it impressed me. I am getting about 10-20 yards more of the tee. Now when I get on the first tee it makes me feel more confident because I know that it will go straight down the middle. Plus with £100 of it I think it is a bargain!

bought the sumo 5000 about 2 month ago can hit it about 270 and would recommend it to someone who hits the ball far.
