Callaway Tour ix golf balls combine drive distance with approach spin

03/06/2009
Golfers looking for extra length from their irons while maintaining high levels of control may want to play a few rounds with the Callaway Tour ix golf balls, it has been recommended.

Writing an appraisal for Golf Gear Review, a person known only as Andy highlights that the range of balls are the "longest" that he has ever hit that also offer greenside control when a player attacks a flag.

He also indicates that the ball is strong at remaining straight off the tee, which is aided by them having a tungsten-infused outer core through weight being moved away from the centre of the ball.

The balls also features dual core construction, with the lower compression inner core helping to limit spin from a driver to offer increased distance, while the higher compression outer core boosts spin from chip approaches to a green.

Andy concludes that he highly recommends the use of the ball for players who generate high amounts of clubhead speed, while the only possible drawback is that at times too much spin is created.

The Callaway Tour ix golf balls, are used by professional players including Rocco Mediate and Phil Mickelson.
