Paul Casey reveals that Nike has done a great job in thinking outside of the box through the use of Compression Channel technology in one of its new golf drivers.
The 32-year-old is one of a few players to be using the
Nike Golf VR STR8-Fit Tour golf driver, which also has an adjustable face angle to enable players to benefit from increased workability from their shots.
However, Casey is most impressed with the channel, which is down in the sole of the
Nike golf driver to loosen up the bottom part of the club.
This is particularly helpful if a player catches a golf ball on the thin side as a little more spring is witnessed in the contact.
Casey has revealed that there is even the chance that he may use the golf driver off the fairway if he needed a little more distance on an approach shot to a green.
According to Golf.com, he said: "When I first tested the driver I was blown away. I thought this was pretty cool stuff. There is a noticeable pop off the face where we start to work the compression channel.
"I may even start to hit driver off the deck if I need to, especially the way golf courses are going nowadays."
