Padraig Harrington believes that the hard graft he put in over the winter to improve his ability with his
Wilson Staff golf equipment will begin to show in the coming months.
The Irishman has begun 2010 in customary fashion to seasons gone by and is regularly one to challenge more frequently at the head of a leaderboard later in a year.
His average displays in the five events he has took part in so far this season have caused Harrington to fall out of golf's top ten, but this is currently not at the forefront of his mind.
Instead he is hoping to maintain the accuracy of his shots with his
Wilson Staff golf irons and try to add a little more length to his game.
Speaking ahead of the WGC-CA Championship PGA Tour event, Harrington said: "At the moment, as regards to my ball-striking, I've definitely improved from last year. I'm hitting the ball better, straighter, but actually not as long.
"I've made quite a few changes and I'm assuming and hoping that the length will come back into it. I'd say maybe four miles an hour slower clubhead speed at the moment. Hopefully that will come back up with play and things like that."
Meanwhile, Harrington is also preparing to meet Barack Obama, after gaining an invite to join the US president for the St Patrick's Day celebrations that will take place in the White House.
