The determination shown by Miguel Angel Jimenez to secure his spot in the European Ryder Cup team has not dimmed his passion for the Omega European Masters.
Having played at the WGC Bridgestone Invitational, USPGA Championship, Czech Open and Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles in consecutive weeks, the Spaniard would have been forgiven for taking this week off after earning a place in Colin Montgomerie's side.
However, the
Srixon Z-Star golf balls user has "always" played at the Omega European Masters and is totally committed to the event held at the Crans-sur Sierre course in Crans Montana, Switzerland.
"I'm going to play Switzerland - I never miss that tournament - but then I change my schedule because I'm supposed to play Holland and I cancel Holland because I cannot play everything," he said.
"So it's better I play next week, cancel Holland, play Austria, week off again and go for Ryder Cup."
Jimenez is known for his accurate driving and has hit an average of 68.7 per cent of fairways per round in 2010.
He sits tenth in the Race to Dubai behind the likes of Martin Kaymer, Lee Westwood and Graeme McDowell.
