Edoardo Molinari had a day to remember on Sunday (August 29th) after winning his second European Tour event at Gleneagles and clinching a spot in Europe's Ryder Cup team.
The TaylorMade - R9 TP irons user was two shots behind Australian Brett Rumford standing on the 16th tee but carded birdies on 16, 17 and 18 to secure the Johnnie Walker Classic.
According to Europe's Ryder Cup captain Colin Montgomerie, who rewarded Molinari with a wildcard for his efforts, it was the best finish he had ever seen in his 24 years on tour.
"I don't think I've seen a finish of that quality under such pressure by anyone, ever," Montgomerie confirmed.
"I think what Edoardo Molinari did today was literally incredible, and that's the type of player that we need to try and regain this Ryder Cup from the Americans."
Edoardo will now team up with his brother Francesco, who qualified automatically.
The siblings are a formidable pairing, having teamed up to win the 2009 World Cup at the Omega Mission Hills World Cup in China.
