Nick Watney believes that the weather will have a major say on how low the winning score will be in the WGC-CA Championship.
The
Titleist AP2 golf irons user chased home Phil Mickelson in the tournament last year as his 18-under-par total saw him miss out on victory by a single shot.
Watney returns to Doral in Florida in the hope of going one better 12 months on, but feels that it may prove more challenging this year to shoot such a low score.
He said: "If it's really windy and firm it's not going to be as easy. Last year if I remember correctly, we had some pretty light wind days and the greens were relatively soft. It was definitely more suited to scoring.
"It's tough to tell in the practice rounds because the golf course usually changes a little bit."
Watney is a two-time winner on the PGA Tour, with his most recent victory arriving last February in the Buick Invitational when defeating John Rollins by a single stroke with his
Titleist golf equipment.
