British number three Luke Donald will miss next month's PGA Championship due to his ongoing wrist problems.
Mizuno man Donald picked up the injury during the US Open, forcing to quit during the final round at Torrey Pines.
Now, after missing the recent Open Championship, the two-time Ryder Cup winner has been forced to pull out of the next major at Oakland Hills, starting on August 7th.
The news places Donald's chances of making Nick Faldo's European team for the Ryder Cup in serious jeopardy, with little time to rack the necessary standings points to qualify automatically.
Faldo poured cold water on suggestions Donald could be handed a wild card entry last week, saying: "He would need a very quick recovery to get to the US PGA, but you can't come back from a wrist injury too early because it will flare up again."
"To pick a man who is injured would be a major story."
