Double Open champion Padraig Harrington claims that the team spirit at the Ryder Cup has the power to traverse language barriers.
The European players will be looking to retain the Ryder Cup trophy for a fourth successive occassion when the event kicks off next month.
Commenting at the US PGA Tour event,
Wilson Staff man Harrington suggested that the competition's unique bond and desire to win helped make the team's
golf clubs do the talking.
He said: "Often there are guys on that team that you might not have had dealings with or that speak a different language or struggle with English, but for the whole week, there is a bond there.
"It's an amazing feeling that week and an amazing tournament because it creates that atmosphere."
Players will be hot-footing it around the Ryder Cup matches in their
golf shoes between September 19th and 21st 2008.
Harrington recently gave his support to Colin Montgomery ahead of the Ryder Cup selection, noting at this week's European Open that he would "want Monty on the team".
