US Masters champion Trevor Immelman will strive for consistency to his game during the upcoming US PGA Championship.
The
Nike Golf player experienced a turbulent time at the recent WGC-Bridgestone Invitational, carding a 75 and 74, followed by a 68 and a 64 over the weekend.
Now the 28-year-old, who held his nerve at Augusta to become the first South African to wear the green jacket since Gary Player in 1978, has set his sights on executing a consistent run in the major, starting tomorrow (Thursday, August 7th).
He commented: "I need to try and find a bit more consistency for me to really feel like I can compete when the gun goes off.
"I've been working on trying to get it a bit more consistent but last week was like a typical week for me at this point, two really good rounds. I thought I had something going and then kind of a so-so round on Sunday."
Immelman's erratic form has been underlined by his seven missed cuts in 2008.
