Seve Ballesteros has been admitted to hospital after fainting, according to reports.
It is said that the 51-year-old was feeling dizzy yesterday (Monday, October 6th) before being taken into the La Paz University Hospital in Madrid to undergo tests.
The medical facility was reluctant to release any information apart from that the five-time major winner was in a "stable" condition.
The news comes after Ballesteros's nephew confirmed last year that his uncle suffers from an irregular heartbeat.
Ballesteros of
Callaway Golf retired last year after a glittering career which saw him win 49 European Tour titles, as well the Open Championship three times and US Masters twice.
The Spaniard had called it a day after arthritic problems and a knee injury had made it difficult for him to continue playing competitive golf.
Ballesteros was part of three winning Ryder Cup sides and was a victorious non-playing captain at Valderrama in 1997.
