Singh happy at Ridgewood

Vijay Singh was so dismayed with the state of the greens at Oakland Hills during the US PGA Championship recently that playing at The Barclays FedEx Cup event at Ridgewood Country Club this week will be a pleasure.

Compared with the super-quick greens on the Michigan course which golfers struggled with all week, Cleveland Golf's Singh indicated that playing at The Barclays will be like taking golf holidays.

"I think, finally, we are playing a good golf course," he said.

Singh did not enjoy the best of his golfing weekends at the US PGA, ending up tied for 49th after four rounds - a disappointment considering his encouraging victory at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational a week earlier.

He said of the Oakland Hills course: "If the members were to play the speed of the greens we played, they would all quit. I don't think there would be any members left."
