European Tour officials have revealed details of the new look schedule for next season.
A record 53 tournaments will be played in The Race to Dubai, culminating in the £5.6 million Dubai World Championship in November 2009.
The order of the next schedule means that from 2010, the European Tour will run according to a calendar year format.
George O'Grady, chief executive of the European Tour, appeared excited by the events taking place next month, which will see the HSBC Champions in Shanghai as the first event counting towards The Race to Dubai standings.
"We are excited about the start of The Race to Dubai and the superb quality of the field for the HSBC Champions in Shanghai, with five of the top seven currently active players in the world all entered, provides ample evidence of the high drama and great theatre that lies ahead," he said.
As well as The Dubai World Championship, other new events include the Czech Golf Open, The English Open, the Canal + Open and the Volvo World Match Play Championship.
