Paul Azinger has made an attempt to fire up the US crowd ahead of this week's Ryder Cup.
Europe and the US go head-to-head in the showpiece event, starting at Valhalla, Kentucky on Friday (September 19th), with the US attempting to win back the trophy at the third time of asking.
US team captain Azinger has been happy to label his side as underdogs ahead of the contest and is looking for a hearty home crowd backing to act as a boost.
"If I could hand pick any place in the country this would probably be the spot," he said of the Louisville venue. "I think they will be behind us."
"The message to the crowd is be enthusiastic, raucous, crazy if you like, but keep it all within the realm of good sportsmanship."
Two US players,
TaylorMade's Kenny Perry and JB Holmes will be playing in their home state.
