Jim Furyk has been named as the PGA Tour Player of the Year by his fellow professionals for the first time in his career.
The 40-year-old, who uses a
TaylorMade Burner SuperFast driver, had been without a victory for two years until his success at the Transition Championship in March.
He then won the Vorizon Heritage and rounded off his year in style with the Tour Championship triumph which handed him the lucrative FedEx Cup crown.
Furyk was the only player to lift three titles over the course of the campaign and admitted that he was honoured to receive his latest award.
"The year just keeps getting better is all I can say. I'm not sure I want 2010 to end at this point," he said.
"This one is very meaningful … having all my peers and colleagues - basically the guys I play against week in and week out - vote for me as player of the year is what's special."
Furyk, who won the US Open in 2003, had previously won the PGA of America's Player of Year award, which was determined using a points system.
