Tiger Woods will not be playing at the Qatar Masters in February, it emerged today (December 10th).
A number of reports had surfaced suggesting that the former world number one would be making his debut at the 2011 instalment of the European Tour event in the Middle East.
However, Mark Steinberg, global managing director of golf at International Management Group, the company which manages the American, has categorically denied the speculation.
"Tiger is absolutely not playing in the Qatar Masters and I have never had any discussions about it," he said.
The 14-time major winner, who uses
Nike VR Forged TW Blade irons, is expected to head out to the Middle East in the following week to participate in the Dubai Desert Classic.
Woods managed to win the event in both 2006 and 2008 and will be hoping to wrest the title back off current champion Miguel Angel Jimenez.
