World number one Tiger Woods believes his inability to make putts cost him dearly at the USPGA Championship.
For the first time ever, Woods failed to convert a third round clubhouse lead in a major into an outright victory.
Despite playing well with his
SQ Dymo Driver and
VR Victory Red Forged TW Blade Irons, Woods finished three shots off eventual winner Yang Yong-Eun.
"I played well enough the entire week to win the championship," Woods said afterwards.
"I hit the ball great off the tee, hit my irons well. I did everything I needed to do except for getting the ball in the hole. You have to make putts, I didn't do that."
Woods, who held a two-shot overnight lead going into the final round, was level with Yang until the 14th hole.
An eagle from the South Korean saw him move to the top of the leaderboard, and, despite his best efforts, Woods was unable to achieve parity from there on in.
