European Challenge Tour Order of Merit Leader Pens New Deal with Letters

22/06/2012
John Letters staff player, Phil Archer, is celebrating a new deal with Scotland’s finest clubmaker since 1918, proudly on top of the European Challenge Tour Order of Merit.

After winning the Pacific Rubiales Colombia Classic with his John Letters Master Model Irons, Archer climbed to the summit of the second-tier of European Golf and penned a deal with the leading Scottish golf equipment manufacturer.

The 40-year old English man, commented: “I’m delighted to have re-signed with John Letters. I have worked with them for a number of years now and it’s great to continue our partnership. The equipment is first class and so is the service I have received, which has been a huge help to me on tour.”

Backing up his victory in Columbia with a top three finish at The Barclays Kenyan Open, Archer has built a lead at the top of the Order of Merit and is targeting a swift return to the European Tour.

“I’ve spent a lot of time between events at John Letters state-of-the-art testing facility in Huddersfield, hitting all the latest Letters’ equipment including the new Master Model Grind wedges, Master Model Fairway woods and also the Master Model blades. The new wedges and irons have gone straight in the bag and have already brought me success” added Archer.

With testing and feedback by Tour Players an important part of the John Letters product development process, the club makers left no stone unturned in their pursuit to become the finest club makers in golf.

Simon Corp, Marketing and Business Manager, Simon Corp, commented: “We’re delighted to have agreed a new deal with Phil. He is a great ambassador for the brand and has a great start to the 2012 season.”

“Phil, as well as fellow Letters’ staff player, Sam Torrance have all had involvement in the design and testing of the new Master Model equipment including the blades, fairway woods and grind wedges, due out this month. Tour players demand the most exacting detail, precision and specifications – so if we can get it right for them, we know the product is right for the market” added Corp.

Archer is joined on Team John Letters by Ryder Cup legend Sam Torrance and trick-shot artist Jeremy Dale.
