Chris Wood assumed a share of the clubhouse lead at the Singapore Open after carding an impressive eight-under-par 63 in his first round.
The Englishman, who carries a
Mizuno MP-630 Fast Track driver in his bag, sits alongside South Korea's Kim Bi-o after a rain-delayed first day at Sentosa Golf Club.
Both players appeared to enjoy the Tanjon Course following a four-hour rain delay at the start of the day, with Wood completing a bogey-free effort.
The duo were joined by Spaniard Ignacio Garrido, who birdied eight of his first 11 holes and is among 108 players who will need to complete their first rounds tomorrow (November 12th).
Defending champion Ian Poulter was even par after six holes, with Phil Mickelson and Italian sensation Matteo Manassero both registering four-under-par 67s.
Wood shot to prominence at the 2008 Open Championship, when he secured a tie for fifth place as an amateur, before following it up with a third-placed finish in 2009.
