Tiger Woods suffered a blow in his bid to end his title drought after enduring a frustrating second round at the Australian Masters.
The American, who has failed to lift a trophy since winning the same event last year, carded a one-over-par 73 to move on to one under par for the championship.
Woods is now nine shots off the pace being set by Adam Bland and admitted that he struggled with a combination of his new swing and the blustery conditions in Melbourne.
"It was tougher today and when the wind blows this hard it affects everybody," said the
Nike VR Forged TW Blade irons user.
"I was struggling with the swing a bit today, but I was as committed to it as I possibly could, it was just a little bit more difficult than I thought it would be, but I got through it."
The 34-year-old also conceded that he was struggling to read the majority of his putts as the greens were playing a lot slower than they were during his first round.
Woods was part of the US Ryder Cup team which came so close to causing a dramatic upset on the final day's play at Celtic Manor last month.
