Amateur players struggling to hit consistent shots with their golf clubs have been told that using their legs more in their swing could help correct this problem.
Writing for the Desert Sun, golf coach Rob Stanger highlights that distance is one of three elements created through impact with a golf ball.
How far a player hits their ball is a result of factors including the loft of the golf club being used, the quality of the contact and the speed the equipment generates through the swing.
One problem some players have is getting these elements working in tandem, something which Mr Stanger has some advice for.
He said: "If you are mishitting the ball, chances are your swing speed is contradicting your ability to swing the club along the target line and make solid contact with the ball.
"It is key to use the bigger, stronger muscles of the legs to create and control these power levels and compliment your ability to control direction and trajectory."
Other factors which may help players generate more clubhead speed through a ball include strengthening their grip of a club and taking a firmer stance ahead of their swing.
