John Letters Master Model Grind Wedge (DG Spinner Shaft)

  • John Letters have been making hand crafted golf clubs since 1918 designing golf clubs for all abilities. Some of the biggest names in golf have used and are still using John Letters golf clubs, including Sam Torrance, Gary Player, Lee Trevino and Phil Archer.
  • Each Master Model Grind wedge has been forged from finest 8620 carbon steel. This ultra-soft material is perfect for a wedge as it combines Carbon and Chromium for a fantastic soft feel as you approach the green and the club head can be highly polished for an exquisite look.
  • The grooves on the club face have been increased to 16 (compared to the MM Black Wedge) to help maximise the amount of back spin you can achieve in impact with the ball. The grooves have been cut with the ultimate precision using a Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) process.
  • This is where a machine has been programmed to cut a specific shape into the club face for the more precise shape so you can achieve the most from every shot you hit with the Master Model Grind Wedge.
  • Additional grooves allow you to get a greater initial ball flight penetration so when the ball is coming down onto the green it has a steeper falling trajectory for a better response with regards to spin when the ball lands.
  • The grinds on each wedge have been developed by some of the John Letters staff players, including Senior Tour player Sam Torrance and Challenge Tour players Phillip Archer and Chris Hanson.
  • These harsh tour grinds allow you to maximise playability from any lie on the course for great versatility.
  • Each wedge is fitted with a DG Spinner steel shaft which decreases the launch angle by 2-3 degrees which increases the spin rate you achieve for getting a more penetrating trajectory that helps you gain more stopping power on the putting surface.

Comments about John Letters Master Model Grind Wedge (DG Spinner Shaft):

      Bought 60deg/DG Spinner model.
Played recently on East Coast courses where greens were parched/hardpan.
15/25 yard chips pulled up in less than a yard.
'Phil Mickleson'30 yard floaters stopped on a sixpence.
Don't know how it works but it really does.
Thanks to Huddersfield DG staff !
