Welcome to the TaylorMade Golf Shop
From their start in 1979, TaylorMade were at the forefront of golf club development, with their
single product line – a 12° metal driver generating more distance than wooden drivers; gaining
their first PGA victory when Ron Streck won the Houston Open in 1981. Throughout the 1980s
TaylorMade expanded rapidly with new forged irons and continually expanding driver and putter ranges.
At the start of the 1990s sales reached the $150 million mark and in 1994, TaylorMade metalwoods
were the No 1. brand of metalwoods on the PGA Tour for the 10th consecutive year. In 2000 golf balls
were added to TaylorMade’s range and again in 2006, when also the R7 became the R9; finally resulting
in the multi-adjustable, best selling, R11 Driver in 2011.
The merger with adidas-Salomon in 1998 brought clothing and footwear to support the TaylorMade brand and
by 2006 adidas golf shoes rose to be the No. 2 brand in global sales. The Tour 360 II became a classic
shoe, updated in 2011 with a THINTECH sole. Technology features strongly in the adidas clothing range,
with hi-tech fabrics matched with stylish design. On or off the course adidas clothing is recognised
as some of the best golf clothing available.
