TaylorMade Golf's new RocketBallz fairway woods have made their European Tour debut at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship, before its official launch in Qatar and went straight to No.1 Fairway Model with 24 put in play.
TaylorMade staff professionals including Darren Clarke, Sergio Garcia, Martin Kaymer, Simon Khan and Richie Ramsay are using the RBZ Tour fairway wood this week and some players have seen yardage gains of up to 24 yards. Newly signed TaylorMade staff player Fredrick Andersson, tested the RBZ fairway at the beginning of this week and saw an average increase carry of 15 yards with his 3 and 5 wood, while Peter Hedblom gained an increased distance of 20 yards.
Ian Watts, Director of Sports Marketing for TaylorMade-adidas Golf Europe, commented "The players are incredibly excited about the new fairway wood. We are thrilled to have the No.1 Fairway Model even before the official Tour launch which will be next week at the Qatar Masters."
The RocketBallz fairway woods incorporate improved sole geometry and a “Speed Pocket” to improve overall head and face flexibility, increased face size, low CG location, advanced playability features and a lightweight shaft and grip. The combination of these elements promotes a remarkable increase in distance – better players will gain up to 17 yards.*
