Iron Buyers Guide - Low Handicap
Head Design – As a low handicap golfer your ball striking is of a very good standard. This means you can choose a set of irons that sacrifice some forgiveness and in turn deliver extra feel, control consistency and workability. ‘Bladed’ irons deliver the absolute ultimate in precision but offer no room for error on off centre strikes and should only be played by the highly accomplished golfer. A good compromise is the ‘Combo’ set which offers a blend of forgiveness and control, all being delivered in a traditional looking head. The ‘Combo’ and ‘Blade’ head styles also lend themselves to being workable for extra control.
Head Construction – Forged heads deliver more feel, control and feedback than a cast iron head could ever dream of. If you are serious about your game and want to know everything about how you strike every shot then forged is for you.
