On an average round of golf you will walk four miles. Now take into consideration that a golf bag full of clubs, balls and accessories will weigh 20 kilos and you can see why many golfers choose to use a trolley to transport their clubs round the course. Benefits of using a trolley include reduced strain on your back and legs, whilst retaining valuable energy to use in your golf swing rather than carrying your clubs round.

Pull Trolleys – As the name suggests these trolleys have been designed (usually with two wheels) so that you can pull your clubs behind you. A good quality pull trolley can cost from as little as £19.99 and represents great value. Look out for added features such as lighter weight Aluminuim frames, scorecard holder, bag straps and ergonomic handles that are designed to the shape of your hand.

Push Trolleys – Some golfers prefer to push the trolley in front of them as they walk and feel it is a more natural and comfortable position. As quite a modern invention all of these trolleys use the standard trolley design but with the crucial addition of a front facing third wheel. Taking advantage of their modern design many of the 3-wheel trolleys fold up into a very small unit when not in use, perfect for storing in a locker or car boot. A host of additional features are also available including sports wheel, soft padded handles and drink/scorecard holders.

Electric Trolleys – Gone are the days when the electric trolley was solely for the more mature golfer! In the last few years the electric trolley has undergone a radical image and design makeover which now means that you will find any golfer, of any age and any standard using an electric trolley to power their clubs round the course. The general design of the trolley is very similar to the manual push trolley but uses a strengthened and more designed frame to accommodate the extra weight from the battery and motor. A range of batteries are available which will cover 18 to 36 holes on one charge, with a super lightweight and powerful Lithium version now available. Direct Golf UK only stock electric trolleys that carry a bullet proof warranty service from the manufacture, giving you complete piece of mind on the course and saving you even more energy.
