Hybrid Utility Buyers Guide - High Handicap
Hybrid Utility Buyers Guide - High Handicap
If you are a high handicap golfer and you are not using hybrid clubs instead of traditional long irons, quite frankly, you are missing out and your scores will be suffering as a consequence. It is strongly recommended that you replace at least your 3 and 4 iron, with some golfers also choosing to add a 5 and 6 hybrid into their bag as well.

The overall design of a hybrid club means any make will be more forgiving than a normal long iron but look out for the models which have been designed specifically for this purpose and stay away from the ‘Tour’ versions, which are aimed towards the more accomplished player.

To get the most out of a hybrid choose a regular flex graphite shaft, unless you have a particularly quick swing and need a stiffer shaft. The lightweight graphite material will generate more clubhead speed leading to more distance! For the more mature and/or lady golfer, senior and ladies flex shafts are also available.
